Fillers

Our bodies are marvels of chemistry and that chemistry can change over time. For example, over time, our skin can reduce its production of a naturally occurring hydrating-substance called hyaluronic acid. This loss of hydration results in wrinkles and noticeable facial lines, even when the face is at rest. Hyaluronic acid fillers can help rejuvenate the skin and diminish the appearance of wrinkles and lines in the face.

What to know about JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC

  • First and only Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area
  • Clinically proven to last up to 2 years with optimal treatment
  • Can resume normal activities in 24 hours after treatment

One of the early signs of aging is volume loss in the cheek area which results in sagging skin and hollowing that increases slowly over time. Unique to Voluma is that it can last for two years – a longevity that’s unique for a hyaluronic acid filler—and something that makes it particularly appealing to patients. Voluma gel contains lidocaine to decrease discomfort and is meant to be injected at a deep level, on top of the cheekbones. Side effects observed in the clinical trial included mild to moderate tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps, and bumps, bruising, pain, redness, discoloration, and itching that lasted for seven days or less. XC smoothes out moderate to severe wrinkles and folds around the nose and

BELOTERO

How it Works

BELOTERO BALANCE® is a dermal filler as unique as you are. It is specially designed to integrate into your skin and mold to your distinct facial contours. By adapting to the individuality of your skin, it softens lines and wrinkles around the nose, eyes, and mouth for smooth and natural results that are unique to you.

While BELOTERO BALANCE® is made of the same material (hyaluronic acid) as some other dermal fillers, BELOTERO BALANCE® has unique properties that allow it to adapt within the skin for soft and even correction. The versatility of the product makes it strong enough to handle deep treatment areas such as nasolabial folds (smile lines around the mouth), yet very soft enough to treat more delicate areas such as vertical lip lines (thin lines that appear above the lip line).

BELOTERO BALANCE® Dermal Filler is made of a material called hyaluronic acid or HA. HA naturally exists as a component of your skin. By binding HA to water, it fills in wrinkles and folds, providing an immediate and smooth correction. Individual results may vary, but BELOTERO BALANCE® may last 6 months or more.

Just like any injection, you may experience mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising or tenderness at the injection site. These side effects are temporary and typically resolve on their own.

Is a Hyaluronic Acid Filler Right for You?

People with moderate to severe wrinkles around the nose, smile area (think of the parentheses marks that occur when smiling) and mouth have found significant improvement with hyaluronic acid fillers. The procedure is designed to take care of those deeper, always present wrinkles that are the tell-tale signs of aging. If you’re unhappy about facial wrinkles and folds that have occurred with aging, ask your doctor about hyaluronic acid filler options.

Individuals have several options in the hyaluronic acid filler category and the doctor will be happy to help you determine the right option for you. During the procedure, the filler will be administered in a series of tiny injections into specific problems areas of the face, filling lines and wrinkles with small amounts of FDA-approved gel particles. The dermal filler can be injected in the doctor’s office in just a few minutes. The fillers are temporary and, over time, will be broken down and eliminated by the body.

Risks

While hyaluronic acid fillers are FDA-approved and widely used, risks should always be understood with any cosmetic procedure. Several kinds of dermal fillers are available and side effects may vary by formulation. Common side effects include redness, swelling, bruising, bleeding and allergic reactions. Certain adverse health conditions may be affected by the injection of a dermal filler, so tell the doctor about your health history. Hyaluronic acid fillers should not be used by pregnant women or anyone under the age of 18.

Recovery Time

The effects of a hyaluronic acid filler are immediate and last for up to six months. Under normal circumstances, the procedure requires no noticeable downtime or disruption of normal activity.

Follow-up
Hyaluronic acid fillers vary in their duration, but effects may last up to six months. After that, a follow-up procedure may be necessary to restore the effect. As with any procedure, see your doctor if you experience any adverse side effect.
